I understand coming to therapy can be difficult. You may feel vulnerable, scared or overwhelmed, especially if this is your first time. You may be questioning if therapy will even work, or worried about opening yourself up to judgment.
I want this to be a satisfying experience where you feel safe to open up and be heard. I can assure you, what you share with me will be secure and respected. I am passionate about helping others achieve their goals and overcome their obstacles. We all have an inner critic, some are louder than others. Together we can learn strategies to silence the critic and change your life for the better. I want to help you break the hold your past may have over you, overcome your anxieties, build your confidence and self-esteem, and find your serenity.
I provide individual therapy to adults in CT through a secure HIPAA compliant platform.
My practice is 100% online, allowing better flexibility and comfortability for individuals to work on themselves. I use a variety of therapy models to adapt to each individual client. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Mindfulness to help you achieve your goals.
EMDR is a wonderful tool for working through past and present traumas, and it can help with so much more. It allows our brains to reprocess memories that are stuck and access it's natural healing process. The experience will be remembered but the stress response to the experience will be resolved; desensitizing the memory and allowing us to achieve more adaptive thoughts about the experience.
Together we will explore all aspects of your life and work on finding balance between your mind, body and spirit. We will explore how you deal with stress, your strengths and weaknesses, your values and beliefs, your sleep habits and eating routines, exercise needs, family and social life, and more. There may be areas in your life that need healing in order for you to have peace and find serenity.
You will learn relaxation and breathing exercises to use when your anxious feelings are taking control of you. You will learn mindfulness to keep your anxiety at bay. You will become more in tune with your body, allowing you to release the stress or trauma that can become trapped within. We will explore the ways you think and perceive situations and how they impact your mood and self-esteem. We will look at your beliefs, how they came to be, and how they may be hindering you more than helping you. You will learn to be compassionate and kinder to yourself, allowing you to achieve serenity within yourself.
