My Approach

 

Beginning therapy can feel intimidating. It’s common to feel vulnerable, scared, or overwhelmed—especially if this is your first experience. You may wonder whether therapy will truly help or worry about being judged for opening up. These feelings are completely understandable.


My goal is to create a supportive, safe, and meaningful experience where you feel heard, respected, and free to be yourself. What you share with me is confidential and treated with the utmost care. I am deeply passionate about helping individuals move toward their goals and overcome the obstacles holding them back. We all have an inner critic—some louder than others—and together we can learn ways to quiet that voice and create lasting, positive change. I aim to help you loosen the grip of the past, reduce anxiety, build confidence and self-esteem, and reconnect with a sense of serenity.


I provide individual therapy to adults in Connecticut through a secure, HIPAA-compliant online platform. My practice is fully virtual, offering flexibility, accessibility, and the comfort of participating in therapy from your own space.


I use an integrative approach tailored to each client’s unique needs. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Mindfulness-based techniques to support your growth and healing.

EMDR is a powerful and effective tool for addressing both past and present trauma, as well as many other emotional challenges. It helps the brain reprocess memories that have become “stuck,” allowing the nervous system to complete its natural healing process. While the memory itself remains, the emotional distress connected to it is reduced, making space for more adaptive and empowering beliefs.


Our work together will be holistic and collaborative. We will explore various aspects of your life, including how you manage stress, your strengths and challenges, core beliefs and values, sleep and eating patterns, movement, relationships, and overall well-being. Healing often requires tending to multiple areas in order to restore balance and inner peace.


You will learn practical tools such as relaxation and breathing techniques to manage anxiety when it arises, as well as mindfulness practices to help you stay grounded and present. We will also work on strengthening your connection to your body, allowing stored stress or trauma to be released. Together, we will examine thought patterns and beliefs that impact your mood and self-esteem, understanding where they originated and whether they continue to serve you. Through this process, you will cultivate greater self-compassion and kindness toward yourself—laying the foundation for lasting serenity.
